The brand-new 2022 Atlis XT is the approaching pickup truck. Atlis is a new name in the automotive industry so you probably know nothing about it and its arriving XT model. This model attracted plenty of interests after Atlis revealed it is the all-electric pickup truck. According to the manufacturer, the new XT model will deliver 500 miles of driving range.
The performances will be great and its design is modern and attractive. Of course, most of the details are yet to be unveiled but some details are already available. The sales will begin later in 2021 and here is everything you need to know about the new Atlis XT.
Charging Time and Batteries
The upcoming 2022 Atlis XT will reportedly deliver great performances. Moreover, its driving range will be impressive. But what about its charging? Managing thermal loads is equally important and Atlis says the customers should expect very fast charging. At this moment, you won’t find better charging systems than via 400 or 800-volt DC. Interestingly, Atlis said the target is to deliver a 1600-volt charging. If that truly happens, then the XT truck will become a leader in terms of charging time. According to Atlis, the battery pack can virtually be turned into 400 or 800-volt units.
Moreover, the manufacturer said it will need only 15 minutes for the battery to charge from 0 to 100 percent. To this day, the best charging system manages to charge larger batteries from 0 to 80 percent in 20 minutes. Atlis claims it is all about thermal management and cooling the heated cells. Thanks to that, the cells are stopped from growing and shorting. Finally, Atlis says the battery pack can survive over 2,000 fast-charge cycles, which is great.
New 2022 Atlis XT is an electric pickup truck that will arrive with three battery sizes. We don’t know that much about the batteries, but Atlis did reveal a couple of details recently. The word is that the XT pickup will offer batteries such as 125 and 250 kWh units. The battery pack will sit between the truck’s frame rails and most trim levels will deploy a two-axle setup.
Some other trim levels will deliver a six-wheel-drive configuration. The axles are fully independent so the all-wheel-drive system is offered as standard. The driving range is not official, but XT will reportedly offer up to 500 miles. That means the entry-level models will probably provide around 300 miles of fully electric driving range.
2022 Atlis XT Release Date and Price
The upcoming 2022 Atlis XT will hit the dealerships with short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase variants. The wheelbases are ranged from 144 to 176 inches, which is another interesting category. The short-wheelbase XT will cost below $50,000 and the base trim level will deliver around 10,000 pounds of towing capacity.
The range-topping trims will tow almost 35,000 pounds, according to the latest rumors. Those models will cost almost $90,000. We are waiting for more details from Atlis and its XT truck will probably go on sale in the second half of 2021.
