The forthcoming 2020 Chevrolet S10 is a mid-size pickup truck that is available in South America. This model is especially popular in Brazil, and 2020 S10 will get new updates. That includes new safety features and new connectivity systems. Whatsoever, the design will remain, just like the interior. From the inside, the layout is intact, along with the cabin styling.
There will be up to six trim levels and three different body styles. S10 pickup offers two engine options, one gasoline, and a single diesel variant. Also, Chevy offers both manual and automatic transmission. Overall, it is a capable mid-size pickup that will get mid-cycle refreshments. This model is available in Asia as well, under the name Chevrolet Colorado. The Australian version is known as Holden Colorado.
2020 Chevrolet S10 Exterior Design and Platform
The new model will arrive with the exact same dimensions and proportions. The shape is also unchanged. The 2020 Chevrolet S10 will get small exterior updates. Most of the changes are very subtle and barely visible. Interestingly, the current generation is present for nine years now. We can expect a new generation in 2021 or 2022. For now, mid-size pickup will get some sort of mid-cycle refreshments.
Basically, front part looks slightly sharper and rear fascia will get revised taillights. Besides that, this pickup will stay intact from the outside. Some rumors are suggesting new optional wheels. However, this is unlikely to happen at the moment. There will be three body styles, Single Cab, Double Cab, and Chassis Cab. The platform will remain and the same architecture underpins the GMC Canyon model in North America.
Interior will get some new features. However, design and cabin layout are largely intact. The 2020 Chevrolet S10 is available in six trim levels LS trim, Advantage, LT, Midnight, LTZ and the range-topping High Country trim level are available. All models will get new connectivity and more safety features. New connectivity will put S10 pickup in the best possible position, above its competitors.
MyLink infotainment system is up to date and it now supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, remote engine start, door lock/unlock and engine shut-off features are available as standard now. When it comes to safety aids, S10 model will get backup cameras and front collision warning. Moreover, lane keeping assist, tire pressure monitoring and stability control are included too.
2020 Chevrolet S10 Engine
Chevrolet won’t introduce any sort of mechanical change. That means the 2020 Chevrolet S10 will arrive with the same engine lineup as its predecessor. For the start, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine comes as standard. This naturally-aspirated gasoline unit delivers 206 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, Chevy offers a larger 2.8-liter four Duramax powertrain.
The turbodiesel engine is capable of producing up to 200 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Interestingly, Chevy still offers a 6-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, 6-speed automatic gearbox is optional and more recommendable.
Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2020 Chevrolet S10 is currently produced in the company’s plant in Brazil. This mid-size pickup will arrive in South America in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Some reliable reports are suggesting a price increase, but nothing significant. For that reason, we believe the 2020 S10 will cost almost the same as its predecessor.
