The upcoming 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD pickup truck will hit the dealerships next fall and it will bring plenty of excitement. The pickup truck manufacturers are looking to deliver an upscale heavy-duty model with plenty of power. Chevrolet is one of the best automakers in the business and the 2500HD is one of the most popular heavy-duty choices. It comes with the style and great comfort. Unfortunately, this model is still sitting behind the Ford F-250 and Ram 2500 models.
However, Silverado 2500HD will arrive with further upgrades. That includes bolder design and the interior that is based on the light-duty Silverado 1500 model. Whatsoever, the whole body starts to look more like a smaller 1500 variant. Next two years will be interesting to follow, as no one knows who will claim the heavy-duty throne.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Comes With Strong and Stylish Look
Both the design and the styling of the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD are based on the Silverado 1500 light-duty model. The idea is to deliver an aggressive pickup truck with the stylish look. In order to do so, Chevy will introduce more changes and upgrades. That includes a more angular approach with a wider hood and a bigger face. The roof is exactly the same, however, the rest of the body is slightly different. The company’s design language is easy to spot.
On the other hand, the bowtie badge on the grille is replaced with the “Chevrolet” lettering. The same styling can be found on the Ford F-150 Raptor. The front end now hosts angular LED headlight units and bigger hood scoop. The upcoming pickup truck will from now offer a Bedstep feature. It is an integrated into-bed step and it will provide easier access.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Offers More Legroom
From the inside, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD will share even more cues with the lighter 1500 model. Of course, you can expect more legroom and headroom for the start. Folding the rear seats will open up SUV-like cargo space. Tech-wise, the arriving pickup will use the newest version of the MyLink infotainment system along with the trailer towing assist application.
The center stack is the same as in the 1500 model, the same stands for the knobs and displays. A multifunctional steering wheel will remain, just like the layout of the buttons and controls. The comfort is great but cloth seats will remain as standard. That means the leather upholstery is optional once again.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Powertrain
According to the latest information, both 2500HD and 3500HD models will use the same engine lineup. The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD will offer a 6.0-liter V8 as standard powertrain, as before. The new 6.6-liter V8 diesel engine will be optional. After the announced updates this engine will produce 450 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be available with an Allison 10-speed transmission.
That means Chevrolet will match the output figures of its main competitors in the pickup truck segment. Chevy is yet to announce the official engine specs and to confirm the speculations. Moreover, a Dynamic Fuel Management system will be updated too and it will provide better mileage.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Release Date and Price
