The forthcoming 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 is coming to the markets once again and it will get some serious changes and upgrades. This pickup truck will ride on the same platform that underpins Tahoe, Suburban and Silverado HD models. Hauling and towing capabilities are astonishing, and even the off-roading is an option. There will be eight trim levels in the offer, so you can customize new Silverado 1500 to the tiniest details.
The 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will get new bodywork, new exterior paints, and more standard equipment. You can expect more carbon and carbon fiber materials as well. The overall weight is reduced and this model will now offer some premium features such as MultiPro tailgate and larger panoramic sunroof.
2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 offers MultiPro tailgate and CarbonPro box
For the start, the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will be lighter than the current model. However, the dimensions will change and new Silverado 1500 will be slightly longer. Even the wheelbase will be longer. On the other hand, heavy use of aluminum materials will make this pickup lighter than before. Some new exterior paints will be in the offer and some more standard equipment is available as well.
The exterior looks rugged as before but more distinctive than the current model. The front end adds a grille with chrome trims. That grille gets even more chrome surroundings on higher trim levels. Chevrolet will now offer a MultiPro tailgate and CarbonPro box. Those features will be optional on the base model.
2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 higher trims will get an 8.0-inch screen
The interior of the light-duty pickup truck is in general very comfortable and modern. The all-new 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will be no different. We can’t say the interior is “surprisingly” modern because it isn’t a surprise anymore. Literally, all of the pickup truck is now offering much more luxury than before. The larger dimensions will additionally improve the interior legroom. Moreover, Chevrolet added larger storage bins and the bed is larger too.
There is no point to naming all of the interior features because Silverado 1500 comes in eight different trim levels. We must mention the 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen that is standard. The LT trim and higher trims will get an 8.0-inch screen as standard. Moreover, upper trims are offering more chrome materials and leather upholstery for a greater comfort.
2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 engine improvements
The upcoming 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will offer numerous powertrain choices, six of them to be more precise. There are two gasoline V8 units that are all-new, along with a single diesel engine. A 5.3-liter V8 returns 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The optional gasoline engine is a 6.2-liter V8 that generates up to 420 horses and 460 lb-ft of torque. New diesel unit is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder.
The engine specs are not available yet, but we expect great torque figures and good fuel economy rating. All three units will benefit from the new Dynamic Fuel Management system. This system will cut the fuel flow in order to deliver more efficiency. According to Chevrolet, fuel economy rating will improve, but not significantly.

The Chevrolet’s next light-duty pickup truck will arrive with a slight price increase. While the current model is priced at $31,000, the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will cost $33,500. As we said, there are eight trim levels in the offer and the price could jump to almost $60,000. This pickup will arrive later in 2019 and will look to rival Ram 1500 and Ford F-150.
