A couple of days ago, GM shared a teaser image of the new 2021 Chevrolet S10. It is a pickup truck that is made for South America. Its development is in the final phase, and the sales will start in the coming weeks. The teaser image shows a pickup that looks stylish and modern. It comes with a revised front end with an all-new grille.
Unfortunately, interior details are not available at the moment. On top of that, the engine department is quite a mystery. However, many experts believe the 2021 S10 variant will borrow one of Colorado’s powertrain options. The sales of the new Chevrolet S10 will start in Brazil, then in Argentina. However, its price will be hard to determine.
2021 Chevrolet S10 Exterior Design
General Motors teased us with the new image. According to that photo, the new 2021 Chevrolet S10 will look refreshed and upright. The pickup will arrive with a revised front end with the brand-new grille. The grille is very similar to the grille on the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado. It looks prominent, and the horizontal bar is connected with the headlights. Larger CHEVROLET is visible, and it is finished with dark accents.
The S10 pickup also wears a smaller golden Bowtie logo that sits on the bottom of the front grille. Various experts are predicting that the S10 model will look different in each of its trim levels variants. That means the customers should expect different variations of the front fascia. Unfortunately, GM didn’t release images of the rear fascia or the side profile.
The interior will deliver minor refreshments. However, we can’t say that we know how the new cabin design will look like. The 2021 Chevrolet S10 will undergo a couple of interesting modifications for sure. That includes a longer list of standard amenities in all of the trim levels.
Most of the cues will be taken from the Colorado pickup truck. The prototype that has been spied a couple of months ago is spotted with the right-hand drive. It clearly suggests that the S10 model could go on sale in Australia as well. We believe GM will release more details closer to the launch date.
2021 Chevrolet S10 Engine Specs
The approaching 2021 Chevrolet S10 will surely borrow at least one of Colorado’s engines. The current Colorado pickup comes with three powertrain options. However, we are sure that the S10 pickup won’t borrow a standard four-cylinder gasoline engine. The diesel engine is also not on the cards. The only remaining option is a 3.6-liter V6 powertrain.
This engine is capable of producing 310 horsepower. Interestingly, GM recently introduced its new turbo-four 2.7-liter unit. It is another possibility for the S10 pickup. The new engine delivers 310 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, a new pickup truck will get a ten-speed automatic transmission.
Price and Release Date
The sales of the brand-new 2021 Chevrolet S10 will begin in the third quarter of 2020. GM will launch its new model in Brazil. Argentina will get this model shortly after that. Some reports are suggesting an Australian-spec S10, which makes sense. Unfortunately, the price is still not available.
