The 2021 Chevy Avalanche will make a return later next year. This model was killed eight years ago due to poor sales and new Cadillac Escalade EXT. Now, Chevrolet plans to revive its pickup truck once again. It seems like the pickup trucks are cool, again.
Numerous models managed to gain instant popularity, so Chevrolet simply wants to introduce more pickup trucks. After all, Ford is doing it with Bronco and Ram with the Dakota. So, Avalanche is very certain to happen. On the other hand, we still don’t know that much about the all-new pickup truck.
2021 Avalanche Exterior Redesign
One thing is certain here, new 2021 Chevy Avalanche won’t look like its predecessor. For that reason, this pickup truck will get a total overhaul. Numerous upgrades are about to happen. For the start, some reports are suggesting for Avalanche to enter the luxury pickup truck segment. It’s a risky play by Chevrolet. If that really happens, we can expect an SUV-like styling and sportier stance.
If not, Chevrolet will opt for a traditional design. A four-door variant will happen either way. The front grille will host large lettering instead of a bowtie logo. Avalanche will look clean and rugged at the same time. Of course, some parts have to be aggressive. Upper trim levels or special high-performance versions will provide larger wheels and body-colored features.
Interior and Trim Levels
If the reports are true, the upcoming 2021 Chevy Avalanche will offer four different trim levels. Now, here is the thing. If Avalanche enters the premium segment, then the base model will be luxurious as well. We can’t imagine what will the range-topping trim level look like. This pickup will surely look unique and modern from the inside.
Chevrolet promises a practical cabin with the latest technology in it. So, the base trim level will get dual-zone climate control, USB ports, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth. Upper trims are offering 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, leather upholstery, and heating seats. Avalanche will also get a lot of safety equipment and driver-assistance features.
If Chevrolet continues in their usual way, the new pickup will get three engine options. The forthcoming 2021 Chevy Avalanche will be offering two gasoline and one diesel powertrain. A hybrid variant is unlikely to happen in the next year or two. Avalanche will deploy a unibody architecture so we can expect firm ride and superb handling. As for the off-road capability, don’t expect for Avalanche to deliver anything similar.
A 5.3-liter V8 is the most likely candidate for Avalanche. This engine delivers 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Larger 6.2-liter V8 will be optional. We are still waiting for the full vehicle’s details and its diesel powertrain. Some rumors are writing about a standard AWD system on the base model. Unlikely to happen, in our opinion. An 8-speed automatic transmission is very certain.
2021 Chevy Avalanche Price and Release Date
When it arrives, a new 2021 Chevy Avalanche will compete in the full-size segment. Its price is hard to determine for numerous reasons. If this model really enters the premium pickup truck segment, the price will start at over $50,000.
If not, price in a range between $30,000 and $40,000 is realistic. Chevrolet will introduce its new pickup truck in the second half of 2020.
