The forthcoming 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD is ready for a total redesign. This heavy-duty truck is getting more and more popular year after year. In 2021, Chevrolet will deliver big changes to its HD lineup. If you like Silverado 1500 pickup but you want something wilder and more powerful, Silverado 3500 HD is the answer.

This model offers both gasoline and diesel V8 engines, numerous trim levels and amazing towing capability. There are so many things you can customize, and the “dually” version is now also available too. The interior will also benefit from the latest changes and generally, ride comfort is better than ever before.

2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD Offers Strong Design

The all-new 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD will make a statement once again. Despite its robust look, this model looks impressive. Huge grille dominates the exterior design, and a new grille is placed higher than before. The rear end gets a new “DuraBed” that is made exclusively for the heavy-duty lineup. A long-bed option is also available, and Chevy provides a class-leading volume figures, up to 83.5 cubic feet. The corner steps are also new and larger than on the current model.

That includes both standard and optional steps, so the access is easier on all trim levels. Silverado 3500 HD will get new trailer-tow mirrors that are offered as standard, even on the base model. Of course, you can expect more standard amenities and the power-operated liftgate is just one of them. Dual-rear wheel configuration is also a possibility now, and it will improve the towing capacity.

Inner Cosmetic Changes

The new model will look closer to the half-ton Silverado 1500 pickup. The 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD provides a room for three passengers. However, depending on cab configuration, you can maximize seating capacity to six occupants. Logically, if you want more room, you should go for a crew cab rather than a double cab version. The front of the interior looks clean, and it offers easy-to-use controls.

Base trim levels are available with a lot of plastic materials, and the list of features is limited. If you want more luxury and a higher level of comfort, you need to buy one of the upper trim levels. We’d recommend High Country trim level that comes with leather upholstery, head-up display and heated-ventilated seats.

Engine Specs

The best part of the new 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD is its engine lineup. Two big engines are available, both gasoline and diesel. 6.6-liter V8 gasoline will replace the aging 6.0-liter Vortec. This unit delivers 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, a 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel is optional. Duramax powertrain generates 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of twisting power.

Both engines will get increased towing capacity. The maximum towing capacity is rated at 35,500 pounds, which is the best-in-class figure. A new 10-speed Allison automatic gearbox is available on the diesel variant. On the other hand, the gasoline engine is still mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
