The all-new 2021 Chevy Silverado HD will get numerous updates. According to multiple reports, this heavy-duty lineup will gain a lot of improvements on the inside. Moreover, GMC Sierra HD will get the same upgrades as well. That includes refreshments in the technology department, mostly.
GM will try to deliver better software and new trailering camera systems. However, the exterior design will most likely remain. Thanks to the latest changes, new Silverado HD will now look closer to the Silverado 1500 pickup. As for the performances, Chevrolet will continue to offer the same engine lineup that includes gasoline and diesel powertrains.
2021 Chevy Silverado HD Design
The 2021 Chevy Silverado HD arrived with a significantly larger grille. The reactions were mixed but more negative than positive. However, the 2021 Chevy Silverado HD will continue in the same manner. Moreover, we don’t expect significant changes in terms of styling. That means the heavy-duty lineup will continue with its robust appearance and upscale design. The rear part offers a special “DuraBed” feature and you can also opt for a longer bed version.
Chevrolet is the leader in class when it comes to volume, and its HD models are offering 83.5 cubic feet of space. For 2021, we can expect larger corner steps, both standard and optional. Chevrolet will focus on practicality, rather than on the design. All trim levels will benefit from the latest changes, but the styling will carryover.
The upcoming 2021 Chevy Silverado HD will deliver numerous interior updates. Chevrolet will focus on the technology this time, and one of the main improvements will be new software and new trailering camera system. Moreover, GMC Sierra HD will get the same upgrades. That includes a system with 15 camera views to monitor space around the truck. Thanks to that, Silverado HD will offer various angles behind the bed, to the sides and ahead of the vehicle.
Moreover, cameras will cover the bed and space behind the trailer. As for the rest of changes, new Silverado HD will be closer to the Silverado 1500 version. You can also expect new optional head-up display and additional driver-assistance features. As always before, the crew cab configuration offers a room for six passengers and plenty of legroom. No doubt, this body style will be the most popular choice once again.
2021 Chevy Silverado HD Engine
What makes this truck lineup so great is its engine lineup. The forthcoming 2021 Chevy Silverado HD will offer both gasoline and diesel units once again. A 6.6-liter V8 gasoline engine is being provided as standard. That means a 6.0-liter is no longer available. Potent V8 powertrain is producing 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. If you want something more capable than that, a 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel is also available. This optional engine provides 445 hp and up to 910 lb-ft of torque.
According to GM, both displacements will gain better-towing capacity. At this moment, a maximum towing capability is rated at 35,500 pounds. Silverado HD Diesel will use a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission. On the other hand, gasoline variant sticks to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Price and Release Date

High Country variant is priced at $64,000. If the reports are correct, new Silverado HD lineup will hit the markets later in 2020.
