The 2021 Chevy Silverado will arrive with a lot of exciting news. However, the famous pickup truck model won’t be the next-generation model. Whatsoever, the new generation won’t happen anytime soon. For that reason, the 2021 Silverado will arrive with mid-cycle refreshments. We can expect new exterior colors, minor styling upgrades, and improved interior design.
New Silverado will continue to ride on the existing GM T1 platform that underpins models such as Suburban and Tahoe. Chevy’s best-selling pickup will offer numerous trim levels, cab configurations, and engine options. Just like in the previous years, the Silverado ZR2 model will become available as well.
2021 Chevy Silverado Exterior
In 2019, Chevrolet introduced the new-generation Silverado. For that reason, the next-gen model will arrive in 2024 or 2025. That means the 2021 Chevy Silverado won’t introduce drastic changes. Dimensionally, this pickup will be the same. Even the shape is intact. However, the new model will be lighter than its predecessor. On top of that, styling is slightly changed, mostly up front.
The appearance looks distinctive and Chevy will introduce more chrome details. The current GM T1 platform will remain, so there won’t be any changes under the skin. The 2021 Silverado will get new exterior paints. On top of that, there will be a small rearrangement of groups and packages. MultiPro tailgate and CarbonPro box are available once again. Both features will be optional.
For 2021, Silverado will get small interior improvements. The cabin is relatively fresh, the design looks modern and comfort is great. The light-duty pickup truck comes with an SUV-like interior and it looks upscale. Even the base model offers a high level of comfort. Chevrolet will deliver larger storage bins and a longer bed option.
There will be up to eight trim levels. Upper trim levels will offer an astonishing level of luxury for the pickup segment. Leather upholstery will be standard and larger 8-inch display is all-new. Latest rumors are suggesting new safety equipment and some other, optional driver-assistance features.
Things will stay intact under the hood. The 2021 Chevy Silverado will offer the same two powertrain choices as before. A 5.3-liter V8 that produces 355 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque will remain the standard engine option. However, a 6.2-liter V8 is optional and it generates 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Rumors are suggesting a new 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. This six-cylinder unit will deliver great towing capacity and better fuel economy rating. Also, the same unit could power the upcoming 2021 Silverado ZR2 model. ZR2 will be a high-performance variant that will look to rival models such as Ram Rebel TRX or Ford F-150 Raptor. On top of that, the speculated turbodiesel engine will be paired with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox.
2021 Chevy Silverado Price and Release Date
Pricing details are not available yet. The 2021 Chevy Silverado will probably cost between $30,000 and $35,000. If you want to buy higher trim levels or the high-performance ZR2 model, you’ll have to pay over $50,000.
There will be eight trim levels and plenty of choice in every possible category. New 2021 Silverado will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2020.
