The forthcoming 2022 Chevy Avalanche is making a comeback. Once a very popular pickup truck, Avalanche has been discounted in 2013, after twelve years of the production. The last model shared its chassis and wheelbase with the Suburban SUV and Escalade EXT pickup. The latest reports are strongly suggesting its comeback.
Chevrolet will deliver a brand-new model that will look very modern and premium. Moreover, some rumors are predicting for Avalanche to compete in the luxury pickup segment. Some things are still a mystery, but Avalanche will be an SUV-based pickup truck for sure. It will use an independent rear suspension, and its performance should be impressive.
2022 Chevy Avalanche Redesign
New 2022 Chevy Avalanche will look modern and unique. Of course, Avalanche will borrow a couple of styling cues from the Chevrolet’s lineup of SUVs and crossovers. Suburban and Tahoe models will have the greatest impact on the brand’s new pickup truck. At this moment, we have seen a couple of renderings, while spy shots are not available yet. The render photos are showing a sporty appearance and athletic stance of the 2022 Avalanche.
It looks handsome, especially with the dark gray accents on the front fascia. Chevrolet will deliver a recognizable grille with a standard LED headlights. The grille will wear large “CHEVROLET” lettering. Similar styling cues can be found on the Colorado ZR2 Bison truck. Avalanche will ride on standard 20-inch wheels, and it will look sleek.
Cabin Provides a Good Level of Comfort
New 2022 Chevy Avalanche pickup truck will arrive in a crew cab configuration. That means there will be room for six passengers. However, some other cab setups could be in the offer. Thanks to that, Avalanche could also arrive as a five-seater. Newest reports are suggesting a long bed made of a single panel. Moreover, four trim levels should be in the offer.
Avalanche will provide easy customization and plenty of optional equipment. The base trim level will provide a good level of comfort. However, the range-topping models will provide a real luxury. The interior room is ample, and the cabin is convenient. Lastly, safety ratings will be impressive thanks to the latest driver-assistance features.
2022 Chevy Avalanche Engine
The upcoming 2022 Chevy Avalanche will most likely offer two powertrain options. Developing a new engine is not an option, so Avalanche will borrow the existing engine from other brand’s models. A 5.3-liter V8 is the most likely option for a standard engine in the base trim level. Optionally, a 6.2-liter V8 will be an optional engine. The standard engine option will produce 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.
The optional powertrain will crank out 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of twisting power. A diesel option is not on the cards at the moment. On top of that, a hybrid variant is also unlikely to happen. The independent rear suspension is in the offer, which is great. Avalanche will provide superb ride quality, but the off-roading ability will be limited.
Price and Release Date
The brand-new 2022 Chevy Avalanche will make a comeback next year. The sales will start in the second half of 2021, and its price will start at around $35,000.
We are waiting for Chevrolet to release closer details about its new model. Some rumors are suggesting a premium price, and Avalanche could compete in the luxury segment.
