After receiving major updates for 2021, the 2022 Chevy Colorado should arrive with minor changes. The 2022 Colorado is the eight model of the second generation. It is the last model before third-gen Colorado goes on sale. Some rumors already wrote about the 2022 Colorado as the next-gen model. However, that will not happen.
When it comes to updates, the upcoming truck will get new exterior colors and re-arrangement of the trim levels. Visual updates are minor, and the interior could get more standard features. As for the performance, Chevrolet could discount its 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine. The rest of the engines will remain intact.
2022 Chevy Colorado Facelift
As we said, rumors about the next-gen 2022 Chevy Colorado are false. Instead, new Colorado will arrive with minor upgrades. Colorado already offers a striking design, and some parts are looking aggressive. On the other hand, the mid-size pickup truck is stylish, especially its front fascia. Colorado will continue to ride on standard 17-inch wheels, and most of the exterior features are a carryover.
However, new exterior colors will become available. The reports are writing about Cherry Bomb Tintcoat and Dune Metallic exterior paints. Under the skin, Colorado continues to ride on the GMT 31XX platform. Colorado pickup offers extended cab and crew cab with short and long box options.
The upcoming 2022 Chevy Colorado will stick to its current interior design. More major updates will happen in 2023, once third-gen Colorado arrives. Until that happens, Chevy will provide minor upgrades in order to keep its mid-size pickup truck competitive. However, Chevy will re-arrange trim levels so we can expect more standard equipment.
This is especially good for the base trim level that will now offer more standard features. The infotainment system will get an update, but standard and optional touchscreens will remain. The interior provides plenty of room and comfort is great, so further changes are not needed at the moment.
