The upcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado is scheduled to arrive with major refreshments. The new spy shots are revealing just that. Silverado is steadily losing battle with rivals like Ford F-150 and Ram 1500. For this reason, drastic improvements are a must for this light-duty full-size pick-up truck. As expected, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado will release almost the same updates.
This includes a variety of visual changes, such as a new tailgate. However, the interior is the category that is projected to experience the greatest changes. In terms of performance, we think the Silverado pickup will continue in the same way as before. Chevy will launch a new 2022 Silverado next summer.
2022 Silverado 1500 Changes
A prototype of the 2022 Chevy Silverado has been spied with a lot of camouflage. The front fascia is completely disguised, including the front fenders and the hood. In addition, the rear section is covered as well. Yet, it’s safe to say that the front fascia is completely new. This means we should be looking at a new front end with a new layout. The front section will host a two-tiered lighting system. The same cues can be found in the latest Blazer and Silverado HD models.
The spied version features slimmer LED accents and brand-new daytime running lights. The cab is still intact and the rear end should offer a new BedStep system. Whatsoever, Chevy will offer a new tailgate and it’s the same GMC MultiPro tailgate. It will become available as the MultiFlex tailgate, and this novelty will increase the functionality of the vehicle.
Newest spy images failed to deliver inside info. On the other hand, new 2022 Chevy Silverado and the 2022 GMC Sierra will offer the same adjustments. The interior will be severely refined and will add modern high-tech equipment. The current Silverado pickup has been criticized for its outdated cabin.
However, the 2022 Silverado will have a new structure backed by a redesigned center stack and an updated dashboard. Larger screens will also be available, and more standard features will be offered by Chevrolet. On top of that, comfort and safety are better than ever before.
Engine Lineup Remains Intact
The 2022 Chevy Silverado will offer the same engine lineup as its predecessor. This means that the Silverado pickup truck will continue to use its proven 5.3-liter V8 gasoline engine. The engine is capable of delivering 355 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, a larger 6.2-liter engine is available and it generates 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Silverado will also sell a powerful 3.0-liter diesel engine. The six-cylinder unit can provide more torque and improved fuel efficiency. A hybrid powertrain is a rumor at the moment, but Silverado still needs some form of electrification. However, the main competitors are already offering hybrid powertrain options.
2022 Chevy Silverado Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado will reportedly go on sale in summer 2021. Chevrolet will offer up to eight trim levels and the price for the base trim will now start at $33,500. This is a small price increase, which is perfectly reasonable. More details will become available in the coming months.
