The next 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 has been spotted during the new testing cycle. There are several updates in the new photos. This truck will be refreshed both outside and inside. New features for the upper trim levels are expected in different reports. The engine line-up, on the other hand, remains unchanged.
The positive thing about Silverado 2500 is that it provides petrol and diesel engines. Both models are powerful, but a diesel engine remains a better option. Silverado HD offers greater fuel efficiency and slightly improved towing ability with a diesel engine. From what we know, the sales will begin in the second half of 2021.
2022 Silverado 2500 Spy Photos
The newest exterior updates are visible on the new spy photos. The 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 has been spied with heavy camo, but some changes are visible at first glance. The front fascia wears the most camouflage so we expect major updates to happen upfront. Numerous reports are predicting new hood lines, slightly larger headlights, reshaped grille, and brand-new front fenders.
Reportedly, the goal is to deliver a look that is closer to Chevy Blazer. The rear section wears updated taillamps and possibly a modified tailgate. The most possible outcome is that the MultiPro tailgate will be used by Silverado 2500 but it will be called „MultiFlex.“
On the inside, the new 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 will get some drastic changes. Moreover, Chevrolet’s heavy-duty lineup will borrow some cues from Tahoe and Suburban models. The interior provides great comfort and generous legroom. Reportedly, the new model will borrow some stuff from the mentioned SUVs, including the center stack.
The Silverado 2500 has some cheap plastics in its entry-level versions. New refreshments will slightly improve that so the interior will look more upright and modern. The design is cleaner than before and we expect a couple of new driver-assistance features, along with the updated infotainment system.
Diesel Could Get More Power
The forthcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 won’t get any sort of updates under the hood. Luckily, Chevrolet’s heavy-duty models are offering both diesel and gasoline engines. A 6.6-liter V8 diesel is optional and it is a more popular choice among the customers. This engine generates 445 horsepower and an astonishing 910 lb-ft of torque. However, both Ford and Ram will offer a higher level of torque once again.
As for the gasoline engine, a 6.6-liter V8 is a standard engine with 400 horses. Moreover, this powertrain delivers 464 lb-ft of twisting power. We hope that Chevy will deliver more power to its turbodiesel engine, but we don’t have any official info regarding this issue. The current 2021MY can tow almost 36,000 pounds.
2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 Release Date and Price
In terms of price, the new 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 will now cost around $36,500. Moreover, the top-of-the-range High Country trim level costs $65,000. The heavy-duty lineup will hit the dealerships at some point in the second half of 2021. If the coronavirus outbreak continues, Silverado 2500 will probably arrive in the last quarter of the year.
