Prepare yourself for a wild year in the pickup truck segment. On the American soil, Ford, FCA, and Chevrolet are battling for the top spot and the European and Asians carmakers are right behind them. One fine example will be the upcoming 2020 Fiat Fullback, a pickup truck that is almost identical to the new-gen Mitsubishi L200. L200 aka Triton is one of the best pickups on the planet right now.
The Fullback is, on the other hand, a pickup made for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Fiat sees the Fullback in various configurations but the four-door model with room for four passengers will be standard. Moreover, there will be only two trim levels, SX and LX. The mid-size pickup will also borrow the powertrain from the L200 model, along with some styling cues. If you are looking for a premium model, Fullback Cross will be the answer you are looking for.
2020 Fiat Fullback Looks More Premium and Modern
The 2020 Fiat Fullback will ride on an aging platform which is the main problem. However, Fullback could borrow the architecture from the Nissan Navara in the near future. The new platform will bring plenty of innovations and changes, however, the 2020 model will almost stay intact. There will be two trim levels and two body configurations.
The extended cab will be standard and it adds deeper cargo area. The double cab will be a more functional variant with more seats and it will look more stylish. SX and LX trim levels are available, and while the SX looks almost the same as the Mitsubishi Triton model, LX will slightly depart from the Triton’s exterior design. It will look more premium and modern.
2020 Fiat Fullback Interior Updates
The interior will continue with the same old look as well. The 2020 Fiat Fullback will arrive with minor interior updates. The 7-inch touchscreen is standard and Fullback will offer plenty of safety aids but most of them will be optional.
Infotainment system will get an update as well and the cloth upholstery will be present on the SX trim level. LX models will offer leather seats and premium high-tech features. Extended cab models are available with the four-seat configuration and the Double cab variant is offering room for five.
2020 Fiat Fullback Powertrain
The all-new 2020 Fiat Fullback will continue to ride on a proven 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit. This engine is borrowed from the Mitsubishi L200 model. The turbodiesel engine is producing up to 180 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.
It comes with the 6-speed automatic transmission and the top speed is rated at 110 mph. Four-wheel-drive setup splits into two categories, a 4WD high and a 4WD low range. The rear differential is electric and thanks to it, the 2020 Fullback can tow up to 6,200 pounds.
2020 Fiat Fullback Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2020 Fiat Fullback starts at around $30,000. There will be no price changes on the arriving model. We recommend a premium Fullback Cross model that is priced at $35,000.
It offers more upscale interior and sportier exterior design for a slightly higher price than the base model. This model will be sold in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East and it will arrive in the last quarter of 2019.
