New 2021 Fiat Toro is a four-door pickup truck with room for five passengers. It is an affordable model that is sold across South America. However, the Colombian version is available under the name “Ram 1000”. Interestingly, Toro is based on models such as Jeep Compass and Jeep Renegade. The customers can choose between two powertrain options. Moreover, the interior is surprisingly upscale and modern.
Since its arrival in Brazil four years ago. Toro started the concept known as “Sport Utility Pickup.” It is a model that perfectly combines the robustness of a pickup truck with SUV-like handling and comfort. Unlike most of its rivals, Toro is a unibody pickup. New 2021 Toro will introduce a lot of upgrades so check it out.
2021 Toro Exterior Changes
The upcoming 2021 Fiat Toro will rival models such as Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and VW Amarok. However, this is no ordinary pickup truck. As we said, Toro is based on Jeep’s Renegade and Compass SUVs. Thanks to that, its look can be compared with the appearance of Citroen C4 Picasso, Nissan Juke, or Jeep Cherokee. Of course, we are talking about the front fascia and its unusual design.
You may like it or not, but you can’t ignore it. According to Fiat, Toro combines power with pickup truck aesthetics. Indeed, the 2021 Toro is a true Sport Utility Pickup with SUV-like handling and robustness of a truck. Besides changes on the front fascia, we also know that the new Toro will be 192.9 inches long.
New Infotainment System
On the inside, Fiat plans to improve basically every category. That means the 2021 Fiat Toro will get more high-tech and safety features. Moreover, this pickup will gain an improved level of comfort and better practicality. For a start, a 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system will be using the next-gen 5 software. This is an instant advantage for the Toro model over its closest rivals.
New infotainment will offer wireless, 2GB RAM, and 16 GB of internal memory. This touchscreen will be standard in the mid-grade Freedom trim level and above. As for the safety aids, Toro pickup will offer the latest systems as standard on the range-topping trim levels such as Ranch and Ultra.
The base trim level will deploy a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that also comes with a five-speed manual transmission. Thanks to that, the new 2021 Fiat Toro generates 133 horsepower and 137 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed Aisin automatic gearbox is optional and we’d recommend it to anyone. A 2.0-liter MultiJet turbodiesel is the second engine option.
This powerplant deploys a nine-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, the diesel engine comes with features such as 4WD and hill descent control. A diesel engine will deliver more power as well, up to 170 horsepower and over 200 lb-ft of torque.
