The interior is tech-rich and safety rating is among the best ratings in the full-size segment. The exterior delivers modern styling with aggressive design.
We must say the upcoming Atlas started its path as a concept. That concept was one of the best concepts that Ford has ever made. Now, the time has come for the official release and Atlas will compete against established rivals such as Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra.
2019 Ford Atlas exterior looks impressive
For the start, the 2019 Ford Atlas will be lighter than its competitor’s thanks to the latest use of lightweight materials. Payload capacity is another dominating category as well. Bodywork looks impressive and the hard steel provides toughness. There should be numerous trim levels and different body styles as well. That will include various bed lengths and different exterior features.
Atlas reminds us of the current F-150 pickup in so many ways. Generally, the shape is boxy but the design is pretty modern. Aerodynamics are superb and the front end will sport a large radiator grille. Retractable spoiler provides even better aerodynamics and the LED headlights will come as standard. The same stands for the taillights at the back, and to the sides, this pickup will ride on 22-inch wheels.

The interior of the all-new 2019 Ford Atlas will arrive with astonishing technology features. Moreover, safety rating is impressive. When it comes to standard equipment, Atlas offers amenities such as telescoping steering wheel, satellite navigation, and Bluetooth. Numerous USB ports are in the offer, along with the large infotainment display. Standard upholstery includes cloth materials and the leather upholstery will be optional.
However, a Luxury Package provides premium features, and that includes the panoramic sunroof. Sync3 infotainment system is up to date, and another 8-inch touchscreen is adjustable in multiple ways. Safety rating is great and Atlas offers blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors all as standard. With the optional features being loaded, this pickup becomes one of the best-equipped trucks ever.
2019 Ford Atlas powertrain and fuel consumption
This full-size pickup truck 2019 Ford Atlas will offer numerous drivetrain choices. A 3.5-liter V6 is standard and this unit can produce up to 282 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque. A V6 engine offers 6-speed automatic transmission and optional all-wheel-drive configuration. Optional 2.7-liter V6 delivers 325 horses and 375 lb-ft of twists.
Atlas sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds with the V6 unit. However, the most powerful option is a 5.0-liter V8. This turbocharged powertrain bursts 385 HP and 387 lb-ft of torque. Base engine offers 24 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
2019 Ford Atlas price and release date
The price of the 2019 Ford Atlas is another big mystery. Because of numerous trim levels and plenty of optional features, this pickup should be affordable. Some sources are speculating the price in a range around $30,000 or slightly less. This full-size pickup truck will go on sale in the first quarter of 2019.
Ford surprised the automotive world with the introduction of the Atlas concept. This comes as surprise as Ford is simply dominating the pickup segment and F-150 model is America’s best-selling model. The concept looked promising at the beginning and we really expect from Blue Oval carmaker to deliver astonishing truck. However, most of the features and specs sound like a fairytale.
With that in mind, the concept is one thing and final product something else. The concept was introduced with latest features such an idle stop/start system, grille shutters, power running boards etc. EcoBoost is still an option. Moreover, the cargo box floor, tailgate step, cargo ramps, and 110-volt power outlet. Most of these features are still questionable but we would like to see all of them in the final product.
