New 2020 Ford F-750 truck will introduce plenty of changes. Ford has big plans for its upcoming so-called “medium-duty” trucks. Whatsoever, F-650 and F-750 are the only models in the segment with gasoline and diesel powertrains in the offer.
Besides that, F-750 comes with further exterior upgrades. The design looks modern and more stylish than before. From the inside, Blue Oval promises more practical cabin and new high-tech features. Despite its commercial purpose, F-750 comes with plenty of safety equipment.
2020 Ford F-750 Offers Stronger Look
Blue Oval pays special attention to the design. For a commercial vehicle, the design isn’t the most important thing. However, the 2020 Ford F-750 will look upscale and stylish. Of course, Blue Oval simply can’t hide truck’s ruggedness. Inspiration is taken from the E-Series vans. For that reason, you can find plenty of similarities between the two models.
On the other hand, F-750 will retain some of the current features. However, some of the features are looking larger now. That includes headlights, front grille, and bumpers. You can even compare new F-750 with the Ford’s Super Duty models. Chassis cab is available once again and Blue Oval will introduce more standard features this time.
Ford will try to raise the level of luxury from the inside. However, don’t expect a real luxury from the inside. The 2020 Ford F-750 will look modern and upscale. On top of that, Blue Oval promises a practical cabin. Comfort is still great for this truck segment. Base vinyl seats are standard, along with the AM/FM radio and navigation. Optionally, F-750 offers more luxury.
The infotainment system is updated, just like the instrument panel and a new steering column. Instrument cluster will also sport some changes. The safety rating is better than before. Ford now offers more safety aids than ever before. The credit goes to Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 system. This technology offers auto headlights, lane departure warning, and traction control. On top of that, electronic stability control, blind-spot monitoring and hill start assist are available too.
2020 Ford F-750 Engine
The upcoming 2020 Ford F-750 is already above the rest of the segment. It is the only truck, along with the F-650 that offers both gasoline and diesel engines. After all, performance is the primary focus for this medium-duty model. A 7.3-liter gasoline engine is available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It is a new powertrain that delivers 330 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
The diesel engine is optional and more recommended. It will use the same 6-speed automatic transmission. However, the diesel unit is producing 330 HP and 725 lb-ft of torque. We are still waiting on some details for a new gasoline engine, such as fuel economy and towing capacity.
Price and Release Date
New 2020 Ford F-750 will keep the same number of trim levels. The base model starts at $60,000. Optional diesel engine and upper trims will cost over $70,000.
It seems like Ford doesn’t have a real competitor in this segment. The new medium-duty truck will go on sale this fall. Full vehicle’s details will become available next month.
