Ford Bronco is making a huge comeback, after two and a half decades. According to first impressions, the Bronco SUV will become an instant hit. However, the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup Truck could follow the same path. No doubt, the pickup variant will surely cause a huge splash in the automotive world. Ford plans to make a complete Bronco family, and that includes SUVs and pickup trucks.
Moreover, the Blue Oval manufacturer will offer various packages, special and limited editions. This is a brand’s plan for the next couple of years. Bronco Sport Pickup Truck is just one of the models that will go on sale in the near future. While we don’t have official info about this model, renderings and various reports will surely help us to get a more detailed picture.
2021 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup Truck Hosts Sporty Stance
After Bronco SUV made its debut, rumors about the new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup Truck already started. The arriving model will be based on the Bronco Sport model, and its name clearly suggests that. There are plenty of rumors at the moment, and that includes rendering photos. The latest renderings are showing a stylish pickup truck with a sporty stance. The front fascia is almost the same as the front end of the new Ford Escape. It is something that no one expected to happen.
However, we are talking about renderings, and the production model could look completely different. The design language is familiar, and nothing surprising is there to see. Moreover, most of the cues are taken from the Bronco Sport SUV. Some other rumors are writing about a convertible pickup truck that will rival Jeep Gladiator. It is more than an interesting story. If that really happens, Bronco Pickup could become one of a few open-air trucks in the world.
Just like the SUV variant, the new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup Truck will use two powertrain options. The engine lineup starts with a smaller 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine. A 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine will be optional. While we don’t know engine specs, both units will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Bronco Sport SUV uses a front-wheel-drive system, and a pickup truck variant will be no different. After all, two models are sharing the same underpinnings.
The all-wheel-drive setup will be optional. Another rumor and possibility is the hybrid version. Ford plans to match Jeep Wrangler SUV in every possible way. That means the SUV variant will feature some sort of electrification. We don’t see why Blue Oval would ignore hybrid powertrain in the Bronco pickup variant.
Price and Release Date
This is a tough one. The latest stories are suggesting for 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Pickup Truck to arrive later next year. It could happen, but we won’t be surprised if its launch happens in 2022 or even in 2023. The price is another mystery. Bronco Sport SUV will cost around $30,000, so the pickup should start above that. Interestingly,
Ford won’t offer its regular trim levels. Instead, the manufacturer will opt for a trim, such as Big Bend, Outer Banks, and the Badlands. Name is another mystery as many speculations are predicting a name that won’t feature “Bronco” in every possible way. Only the time will tell what Ford plans to do with its new pickup truck.
