The forthcoming 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty will introduce plenty of refreshments. Ford’s complete Super Duty lineup should obtain the same type of upgrades, including the F-250 truck. That means the approaching model will get a couple of drastic changes. For a start, the Tremor package is available, and it has become a very popular option among the customers.
It is an off-road package that you can buy on all F-250 Crew Cab variants. Besides that, the truck will gain more interior features. As for the performance, nothing should change. However, some rumors are predicting a hybrid powertrain option. We think this is unlikely to happen in 2021.
2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty Visual Changes
New 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty will change visually. However, don’t expect significant cosmetic upgrades. First spy photos showed us a prototype with a mid-cycle facelift. Most of the prototype was covered in heavy camouflage, but some parts were visible. For a start, Ford will deliver new badge upfront.
The front fascia hosts larger grille, which should provide better engine cooling. According to Blue Oval, new F-250 will wear more aluminum so the weight could be reduced. The hard-strength steel remains, along with the truck’s platform. As for the rear section, Ford worked on revising the taillights. The side profile should remain intact.
Various Refreshments Inside
After Chevrolet’s decision to update the interior of its pickup trucks, Ford will do exactly the same thing. The upcoming 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty will largely benefit from it. The customers should expect various refreshments on the inside. That includes updates across the complete trim level lineup. The base trim level will arrive with more standard equipment, and Ford will introduce a new touchscreen.
The infotainment system is updated as well, and Blue Oval will provide latest driver-assistance aids. While the interior layout remains, the design will slightly change. Generally, Ford will improve every aspect from a better look to a higher level of comfort and better safety ratings.
2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty Engine Details
Under the hood, the new Ford F-250 Super Duty should not introduce any changes. Of course, the rumors about a hybrid powertrain option are still present. However, we don’t think it will happen in the next year or two. That means the F-250 truck will continue to offer its current engines. 6.2-liter V8 gasoline is a standard engine that provides 385 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque.
However, a 7.3-liter V8 gasoline is a relatively new powertrain that will be optional and more recommendable. It will generate 430 horsepower and up to 475 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, there is a potent 6.7-liter V8 diesel that cranks out 475 horses. More importantly, turbodiesel delivers 1050 lb-ft of torque. All F-250 models are using the same 10-speed automatic transmission.
Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty starts at around $34,500. The mentioned Tremor off-road package will cost you an additional $2,000. The price is slightly increased over the outgoing model, and the sales will start at the beginning of 2021. The only mystery that remains to be seen is the speculated F-250 Hybrid variant.
