New 2021 Ford F-450 should bring a couple of interesting changes and upgrades. This Super Duty truck is one of the most reliable models in its segment. It comes with six trim levels, including the famous King Ranch variant. Blue Oval manufacturer will present a new model by the end of March. However, most of the changes are already known so we don’t expect any surprises during its debut.
Ford promised improvements in terms of design and performances. Moreover, the interior will gain a more modern appearance with the latest driver-assistance systems. The changes are far from significant and redesign won’t surely happen. On the other hand, all of the upgrades are a part of the mid-cycle refreshments.
2021 Ford F-450 Updates
When it comes to exterior design, the upcoming 2021 Ford F-450 won’t suffer drastic refinements. The dimensions are the same and the same stands for the vehicle’s shape. Small updated are visible, mostly upfront. That includes the front bumper that has been redesigned and the grille that seems to be larger now. It does make sense because improved performances are in need for better engine cooling.
Thanks to the larger grille, airflow will be increased. The headlights are slightly reshaped and the taillights will follow the same path. As for the rest of the design, the new F-450 will largely remain. Clearly, Blue Oval keeps things fresh and up to date.
The cabin of the all-new 2021 Ford F-450 will remain as practical as it was before. The interior is almost the same, at least in terms of design and layout. However, updates in the technology department are about to happen. Blue Oval automaker will offer a longer list of standard amenities on its trim levels. Moreover, new driver-assistance aids are very certain for 2012.
Unfortunately, all of the new systems will be optional on the base trim level. Besides base XL trim level, Ford is offering XLT, Lariat and King Ranch trims. Moreover, Platinum and Limited are the range-topping trim levels with more luxury. As for the F-450 Limited, it is the most luxurious variant in the segment and it looks very premium.
2021 Ford F-450 Engine
The engine lineup will remain but Ford is promising stronger performances. New 2021 Ford F-450 comes with a standard 6.2-liter V8. This gasoline powertrain is present for years now and it delivers 385 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. New gasoline 7.3-liter is optional and according to Blue Oval, it is the most powerful gasoline engine in the segment. It can generate 430 horses and 475 lb-ft of twisting power. Furthermore, this engine comes with a new 10-speed TorqShift automatic gearbox.
However, if you want a real workhorse, you should go for the optional diesel engine. A 6.7-liter V8 is producing up to 475 horsepower. Ford promises 1050 lb-ft of torque which is a significant improvement over the current F-450 truck. The maximum towing capacity has been rated at 37,000 pounds with a diesel engine.
Price and Release Date
In terms of price, nothing will change. That means the forthcoming 2021 Ford F-450 will once again cost around $36,000.
On the other hand, the most expensive model starts at almost $80,000. Ford will release its Super Duty lineup of trucks later this year, possibly in the last quarter of 2020.
