The forthcoming 2021 Ford Ranger is perhaps one of the most exciting models. The fourth-generation Ranger will become available in North America. Mostly known as a global model, the mid-size truck wasn’t available in the United States for years. Now, famous Ranger is making a comeback. We can expect huge differences between this truck and the global Ranger. Basically, we expect a total redesign.
According to the latest news, the 2021 Ford Ranger pickup will ride on the same platform that underpins the Amarok model. Future Ranger was already caught on cameras without camouflage. We can expect numerous exterior and interior upgrades. Dimension and shape will remain and under the hood, the mid-size pickup truck will offer numerous options.
2021 Ford Ranger Enhance Design
Interestingly, the 2021 Ford Ranger will look unique, thanks to the different styling and design. Ford’s design language is hard to spot on the prototype vehicle. However, the global T6 model and the U.S. Ranger will share a lot of cues. Main reason lays in the fact that both models are based on the F-150 truck. Front fascia comes with an iconic rectangular grille and chrome accents.
Bars on the grille are almost the same as the bars on the F-150 model. Headlights are finished in a c-shape and LED units are available as standard. The side profile is almost the same as on the T6 model. At the back, the unique design is continuing with the narrower taillights. We can expect numerous trim levels and plenty of standard features. That includes eight-spoke wheels and the sidestep.
So far, we know very little about the interior of the all-new 2021 Ford Ranger. All we have for now is the exterior designs. However, we know for sure that the interior will be brand-new. That means the mid-size truck will offer plenty of novelties. Comfortable cabin is guaranteed and you can expect modern interior design. New 8-inch touchscreen will be standard and the SYNC3 infotainment system will be astonishing.
Super Crew cab model is certain and it will offer a room for five passengers. Bucket seats will be optional on the base model. Also, B&O premium audio system will be optional. And while the seating layout will largely remain, the layout of the buttons will be different. That means we can expect a simpler order of buttons and controls.
While the information is not confirmed yet, the 2021 Ford Ranger will almost for certain offers a 2.3-liter DOHC engine. This turbocharged engine is producing 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, the EcoBoost engine is available with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
An all-wheel-drive configuration will be optional. Rear-wheel-drive setup is standard thanks to the Amarok’s platform that also offers the same system. Global T6 Ranger is offering numerous engine choices. No doubt that the all-new 2021 Ranger will follow the same path. We can expect a diesel unit as well. The most likely outcome is a 2.0-liter EcoBlue powertrain that generates 210 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of torque.
Release Date and Price Of The 2021 Ford Ranger
Price is another mystery. Well-informed sources are suggesting a price in a range between $25,000 and $30,000. Higher trim levels will surely cost over $50,000. The 2021 Ford Ranger will hit the dealerships later in 2020, probably in the third quarter.
