The all-new 2021 GMC Canyon Denali is one of the most premium pickups in the mid-size segment. Of course, this model is available as a range-topping trim level. The Canyon is available only in the U.S. and it represents a reliable option on the markets. For 2021, GMC plans to establish its dominant position in the premium truck world.
Canyon Denali can be compared to Ford’s ST or RAM’s SRT trim levels. However, Denali is known for its luxury and other manufacturers can hardly compete with it. Moreover, the Denali version delivers higher performances and more sportiness. Interior is luxurious and under the hood, even diesel engine option is available.
2021 GMC Canyon Denali Design and Shape
The upcoming 2021 GMC Canyon Denali will feature the same shape and dimensions as the base trim level. However, this range-topping variant adds a lot of unique and premium details. Besides the new grille, this pickup wears a more sculpted bodywork and unique pattern. New grille looks amazing, especially next to the other chrome features such as 5-inch assist steps and 20-inch diamond-cut aluminum wheels.
You can get the Denali version only in the Crew Cab configuration. This pickup provides a sportier appearance and it adds a certain level of aggressiveness. Red-colored features and letterings are visible at first glance. For 2021, GMC could introduce a couple of new amenities, besides the relatively fresh remote-locking tailgate.
A similar story continues on the inside. The 2021 GMC Canyon Denali pickup truck adds a lot of refined features and high-quality materials. Moreover, this pickup hosts various wood trims and unique contrast stitching. A premium Cocoa Dark Atmosphere color scheme is available once again. Canyon Denali also comes with ventilated and heated front seats and a premium sound system.
The cabin looks truly amazing and luxury is everywhere. Leather seats, chrome accents and amazing list of standard equipment are just some of the reasons why you should buy this pickup. Unfortunately, the new model won’t suffer that many modifications. Whatsoever, the only change will be the updates of the current systems. The only addition could be one or two all-new driver-assistance aids.
2021 GMC Canyon Denali Engine
The customers can choose between two powertrain options in the next 2021 GMC Canyon Denali. A standard 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine generates 308 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. Its fuel economy is rated at 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Moreover, a 6-speed automatic gearbox comes as standard. The second engine option is a 2.8-liter diesel. This Duramax powertrain is capable of producing 180 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of torque.
The same 6-speed transmission is in the offer and two-wheel-drive setup is available as standard. A four-wheel-drive system will be optional once again. Canyon Denali adds improved driving dynamics and that includes handling and modified suspension. This pickup isn’t off-road capable as some other competitors, mostly because of the front air dam.
Price and Release Date
The forthcoming 2021 GMC Canyon Denali will reach the markets in the first half of 2021. A number of upgrades are far from significant so the price of $41,000 should largely remain. If you are looking for a premium mid-size pickup, this is perhaps the best option you can get.
