Exterior Design

New redesigned Sierra is about to arrive. For that reason, the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD will get a couple of cosmetic modifications. The changes are very subtle and not visible at first glance. The customers will surely like fresh design and a couple of innovations.

One of the new staff is a ProGrade Trailering System. This system provides up to fifteen different views of the truck and trailer. On top of that, Trailering System helps you with the parking, and it makes the new Sierra a safer vehicle.

The Interior Gets More Significant Updates

Previous Sierra HD models didn’t offer such a competitive interior. Followed by the redesign, the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD will get further interior improvements. The latest changes will surely help the heavy-duty truck to reach more sales in the U.S. The arriving model will get larger storage bins and better comfort.

General Motors plans to introduce more high-quality materials and soft-touch surfaces. On top of that, new driver-assistance features are available. The 2021 Sierra 2500HD will be more practical as well, and it will gain new and larger storage bins. Besides that, regular updates of the infotainment system and another tech will happen as well.

2021 Sierra 2500HD Performance

As we already wrote, a new 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD will continue with the powerful performances. Under the hood, nothing will change. Knowing that, this model will continue to offer both gasoline and diesel powertrain options. A 6.0-liter V8 gasoline engine is producing 330 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Standard engine choice also offers a 9-speed automatic transmission.

If you are looking for better torque figures and want to make new Sierra 2500HD a real workhorse, a diesel engine is available. It is a 6.6-liter V8 Duramax. This output is rated at 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the regular gasoline, diesel engine comes with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

The AT4 is an Off-Road Capable Version

No worries, we didn’t forget the off-road capable AT4 variant. Ram offers a 2500 Power Wagon as a competitor. And yes, Power Wagon is a better off-road version. However, the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4 offers better towing capacity and twice the better payload. It can tow up to 18,500 pounds while the Power Wagon “only” 12,000.

The credit goes to a potent 6.6-liter V8 Duramax. Besides the performance, AT4 comes with an aggressive look, unique suspension, and rear locking differential. You also get skid plates, hill start assist, traction control, and hill descent control systems.
