The upcoming 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition is a relatively fresh trim level. It slots between the ALT and AT4 trims and it comes with a more rugged appearance. It is an off-roading edition that adds various exterior changes and a couple of interior unique cues. Elevation Edition looks a lot sleeker and sophisticated than the regular Sierra pickup.
Its appearance makes a real standout on the crowded roads. The interior won’t suffer as many modifications as the exterior but it still looks special. As for the performance, Sierra Elevation Edition won’t introduce any improvements. That means there are still three powertrain options.
2021 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition Design
You can have a new 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition on the base double cab models or SLE double and Crew Cab versions. This special edition builds on Sierra’s already attractive look. The result is an even more distinctive appearance with plenty of monochromatic details. It comes with Onyx Black, Dark Slate Metallic, Summit White and Stone Blue Metallic exterior colors.
This edition, or package, offers a body-colored feature that matches the bumpers, grille surroundings, mirrors caps, door handles, and moldings. GM also offers special badging that departs from the regular Sierra model. Moreover, 20-inch black-painted aluminum wheels are looking incredible. To complete this edition, GM offers a standard 110-volt power outlet, power heated rear-view mirrors, LED fog lights and a remote lockable tailgate.
The forthcoming 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition adds quality on the inside too. The base model comes with a standard 7-inch touchscreen and Intellilink radio. That also means you will get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integrations. Moreover, 4G Wi-Fi hotspot and OnStar systems are standard as well.
On the SLE, Elevation Edition goes even further with a larger 8-inch touchscreen. The dashboard comes with soft-touch materials and the cabin hosts additional brushed aluminum accents. Sierra already offers one of the best legroom and headroom figures in the segment. Comfort is at a high level and a new model should gain additional driver-assistance features.
Nothing will change in this category for 2021. The approaching 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition is using the same engine that is available on the SLE trim level. It is a 2.7-liter turbo engine with 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque. This lighter engine comes with higher fuel efficiency than the other two powertrain options and uses an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The second option is a 3.0-liter Duramax unit.
This turbodiesel output is using a 10-speed automatic transmission and it generates 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of twisting power. The last engine option is a 5.3-liter V8 that can produce 355 horses and 383 lb-ft of twisting power. This engine offers a Dynamic Fuel Management system and is also available with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Price and Release Date
The price will start at $42,000. On the other hand, a new 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition costs $48,000 when equipped with a diesel powertrain.
General Motors will release its new model later this year. Most likely, this pickup truck will go on sale in November 2020.
