The forthcoming 2021 Ram 3500 will bring mid-cycle refreshments. Whatsoever, the manufacturer will deliver the same update to its heavy-duty lineup. The ultimate goal is to make heavy-duty models similar to the Ram 1500, especially in terms of design.
Whatsoever, Chevrolet and Ford are having the same goal. It is a hot race for the best HD model and all three manufacturers are offering impressive pickup trucks. However, Ram 3500 looks like the winner at the moment. Surely, the design is a matter of choice, but power figures are facts. For 2021, Ram 3500 will get visual improvements and hybrid powertrain is a possibility.
2021 Ram 3500 Strong Design
The all-new 2021 Ram 3500 will definitely look closer to the Ram 1500 light-duty pickup. Ram is doing the same thing for years now. However, the heavy-duty lineup is getting small modifications each and every year. The same will be for the 2021 model. That means we will not see drastic changes at all. However, new Ram 3500 will look more aggressive and modern.
The latest spy shots are available. Thanks to that, we saw new headlight units and sharper front fascia. The rear will get more modern taillights that are finished in the same shape as before. The side profile won’t introduce updates at all. The only change could happen on the higher trim levels.
The interior will also introduce minor upgrades. The arriving heavy-duty pickup truck will get a couple of tech updates. Whatsoever, the 2021 Ram 3500 will get more standard features and a couple of optional amenities. Displays will get a new interface and infotainment system is updated to its latest version.
This pickup truck will also gain more safety aids. We still don’t know anything about the design changes from the inside. Spy photos failed to provide more info about this category. On the other hand, some rumors are suggesting a new interior layout for the Mega Cab variant.
2021 Ram 3500 Powertrain and Towing Rate
Changes under the hood are very unlikely at the moment. Not only for the 2021 Ram 3500 but for the complete HD lineup. Knowing that a 5.7-liter V8 remains standard powertrain option. This engine produces 385 horses and 400 lb-ft of torque. A 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is optional once again. It delivers 385 horsepower and torque is rated at 400 lb-ft. The best possible option is the optional diesel powertrain. A 6.7-liter Cummins cranks out 370 horsepower and an astonishing 930 lb-ft of torque.
If you opt for the standard V8 gasoline, towing capacity is rated at 14,000 pounds. However, the diesel unit will take you at over 30,000 pounds. The gearbox options are also unchanged. That means you can choose between a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. Newest reports are suggesting the end for a standard 5.7-liter V8. Furthermore, Ram should introduce a hybrid version instead. However, this information is yet to be confirmed.
Price and Release Date
Given the number of updates, the price of the 2021 Ram 3500 should stay intact. If this is correct, a new heavy-duty pickup truck will start $32,000. Thanks to the numerous trim levels, engine options, and cab configurations, this is one very practical model. Ram’s heavy-duty lineup will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2020.
