The all-new 2022 GMC Syclone is a powerful pickup truck, based on the GMC Canyon. However, thanks to the latest tweaks by the engineering team from New Jersey, this truck generates over 700 horsepower. It is the SVE manufacturer that is known for re-tuning the engines and turning regular models into wild beasts.
However, it is not only the performance that is improved. The manufacturer will also deliver various cosmetic upgrades. On top of that, even the interior will gain a couple of interesting updates. The result is a very potent Syclone pickup with a supercharged V8 powertrain. The sales will begin later in 2021 and SVE will deliver limited numbers, around 50 examples only.
2022 Syclone Looks Incredibly Sporty
The forthcoming 2022 GMC Syclone is based on the GMC Canyon pickup, as we already said. Two models are sharing the same architecture, but Syclone comes with an extended cab setup and a shorter bed. Moreover, Syclone offers more muscles and it also provides a more athletic stance. The front fascia is wilder and it hosts a unique black grille.
On the other hand, LED headlights are exactly the same as on the Canyon model. The SVE manufacturer opted for a larger 20-inch five-spoke wheel with matte black finishes. Generally, if you are looking for a sporty pickup with body-colored features and a wild presence, the new GMC Syclone is a perfect choice.
Interior Provides More Luxury
The interior of the 2022 GMC Syclone will look more premium than the Canyon’s interior. The credit goes to SVE who opted for standard leather upholstery and some other high-quality materials. The cabin layout is the same and both Canyon and Syclone are offering a room for five passengers. The cabin is spacious, including the legroom and headroom.
Syclone will gain additional accents, contrast stitching, and the brand’s logo on the headrests. Overall, the interior design and its layout won’t depart from what Canyon pickup already has to offer. However, GMC Syclone adds more luxury, especially in terms of materials. An 8-inch touchscreen remains, and Syclone offers standard Wi-Fi, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.
Supercharged V8 Engine Specs
Under the hood, the new 2022 GMC Syclone hides a very potent supercharged V8 engine. It is a re-tuned 5.3-liter V8 gasoline unit with 750 horsepower. On top of that, this engine also delivers 600 lb-ft of torque, which is a lot. Previous variants were available with a supercharged V6, but this engine was capable of producing “only” 455 horses.
We think the SVE did a great job in improving the truck’s capability. Moreover, a full-time AWD system comes as standard, and the new suspension is also available. While this is not official, new Syclone pickup will reportedly accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds.
2022 GMC Syclone Price, Release Date
We won’t compare the price of the new Canyon and new 2022 GMC Syclone models. The Syclone pickup offers more luxury and significantly more power. Thanks to that, the price will start at about $80,000, maybe even more. Unfortunately, SVE will build only 50 copies and the sales will begin in the last quarter of 2021.
