2020 Honda Ridgeline exterior upgrades
The upcoming 2020 Honda Ridgeline will ride on the same platform as the Honda Pilot SUV. Moreover, the styling is similar between the two models. The front end comes with refreshing upgrades such as squared-off fascia and reshaped fog lights. The front grille sports company’s emblem and more chrome trims.
Headlights and daytime running lights will feature a LED technology. However, the new model will not depart at all from the current model. The latest changes should mimic the redesign of the Honda Accord sedan. New two-way tailgate systems provide easier loading of the stuff and the bed’s storage is lockable.
2020 Honda Ridgeline interior is spacious and comfortable
Even the interior will borrow most of the styling cues from the Honda Pilot. The 2020 Honda Ridgeline offers great interior layout, the controls are placed in a more logical order and the seats are comfortable. After all, the interior of the Honda Pilot is astonishing. We personally like the new backlighting system and the night rides are very pleasant. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard now and this pickup truck offers a lot of standard features.
However, if you want a more luxurious cabin, you’ll have to pay optional equipment or opt for upper trim levels. The interior space is ample and there is room for five passengers. Cargo area is also generous and you can fold the rear seats flat for additional storage area.
2020 Honda Ridgeline powertrain
Just as the current model, even the 2020 Honda Ridgeline comes with a single powertrain option. No matter which trims level you opt for, a 3.5-liter V6 is the only choice. This engine can produce up to 280 HP and 265 lb-ft of torque. The front-wheel-drive setup is standard but you can buy an optional all-wheel-drive system. A 6-speed gearbox is in the offer and the fuel economy is rated at 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Load the AWD configuration and the 2020 Ridgeline will tow slightly over 5,000 pounds.
A hybrid variant could happen in the near future, maybe even next year. The goal is to pair two electric motors with a smaller 2.0-liter engine that delivers 143 horses. The final output will be around 215 horsepower and the fuel economy will see a significant boost.
