The all-new 2022 Isuzu D-Max will go on sale in the second half of 2021. This pickup truck won’t suffer significant changes as the current model arrived as the new-gen D-Max. For that reason, the manufacturer will focus on improving the tech. Moreover, we could expect small visual upgrades and more optional equipment.
Besides that, everything will remain, from the truck’s design to its engine lineup. Isuzu D-Max is one of those models that are improving year after year. It is a reliable pickup truck that will compete in the mid-size segment once again. Lastly, its price should remain as well.
2022 D-Max Exterior Changes
In terms of design, the new 2022 Isuzu D-Max won’t depart from the current model. We can expect small cosmetic upgrades but nothing significant will change. Whatsoever, the current model arrived with drastic updates. It is the next-gen model that comes with a redesigned front fascia and new rear part.
That means the D-Max pickup wears a new grille, headlights, doors, and taillights. Even the wheels are new. As for the 2022 model, we could see new optional wheels and new exterior colors. Besides that, nothing will change and the truck’s design will remain intact.
The interior of the 2022 Isuzu D-Max will continue in the fashion. That means the manufacturer will continue to offer a very upright cabin with modern features and materials. The goal is to deliver an SUV-like design with a couple of futuristic novelties. We wouldn’t be surprised to see additional upgrades on the inside. However, we think the cabin design won’t change in 2022.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as everything inside the cabin looks modern and new. That includes the displays, the upholstery, and even safety aids. Speaking of that, D-Max will introduce the newest driver-assistance features. However, those features will be optional in the base trim level.
Diesel Engine Available
As before, this mid-size pickup truck will continue to use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Thanks to that, the 2022 Isuzu D-Max will generate 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. We don’t know what will happen with manual transmission. If the manufacturer decides to remove it, an automatic gearbox will be offered as standard. Furthermore, customers can choose between 2WD and 4WD systems.
Diesel is a must and the D-Max model will offer a 3.0-liter with 170 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Some other markets will get smaller 1.9-liter diesel powertrain. The biggest mystery is still the hybrid version. Various reports are still suggesting the D-Max PHEV variant, but nothing is happening. Moreover, the manufacturer refuses to confirm or deny those claims. No doubt, a hybrid powertrain will boost sales like never before.
2022 Isuzu D-Max Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2022 Isuzu D-Max will cost around $32,000, just like its predecessor. There is no reason for Isuzu to raise the price after minor changes. Upper trims are once again available for over $35,000. We are still waiting for Isuzu to release official details about its new D-Max mid-size truck. Of course, a hybrid powertrain is the biggest mystery, as we already said. The sales will begin in the later stages of 2021.
