The forthcoming 2020 Jeep Gladiator is a Wrangler-based pickup truck. It will go on sale this April and it will offer great performances. After so many rumors and concepts, Jeep is finally offering a much-anticipated pickup trick. The goal is to deliver one of the most capable off-roading pickups ever. Knowing that it comes as no surprise the Wrangler SUV is used as a base.
The pickup was finally revealed at 2019 North American International Auto Show. It comes with toughness and it looks very modern. The pickup isn’t that heavy as some other competitors. It comes with a removable roof, an all-wheel-drive setup, and capable V6 engine. From the inside, Gladiator will be comfortable, even with the base model.
2020 Jeep Gladiator Design Is Based On The Wrangler SUV
The all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator offers a 20-inches longer wheelbase than the Wrangler SUV. A 137-inch long wheelbase sounds promising. The pickup currently comes in one body configuration and it is a crew cab configuration with four doors. There will be four trim levels. Most of the exterior is clearly based on the Wrangler SUV, from the removable roof to a folding windshield. Knowing that Gladiator will become the first open-air pickup truck ever made.
Jeep is clearly delivering a pickup model that should be able to beat all types of tough terrains. Standard models will come with the same ride height as the rest of the mid-size pickup competition. A five-link rear suspension will improve ride comfort even more. Wide tailgate, aggressive look and bolder bumpers are visible at first glance.
2020 Jeep Gladiator Interior Is Roomy
From the inside, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator will be almost the same as the Wrangler SUV. The design language is easy to recognize and even the overall layout is very similar. There will be room for five persons and Gladiator will introduce plenty of standard equipment. Comfort is great for the pickup segment and interior offers plenty of soft-touch surfaces.
Upholstery is great but the leather upholstery will be optional. The Uconnect infotainment system is available and it adds a standard 5.0-inch display. An 8.4-inch touchscreen will be optional. Removing doors, roof and windshield are easier than ever. An optional fabric power sunroof is a recommendable optional feature.
2020 Jeep Gladiator Engine Performance
The rumors were true. Jeep will offer a 3.6-liter V6 engine. It is a no brainer for the American carmaker. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is offering this engine in all of its new vehicles. This powertrain can produce 285 HP and 260 lb-ft of torque. However, this is not everything. Gladiator will offer a diesel variant as well. A 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel will generate around 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.
With those output numbers above, the newest 2020 Jeep Gladiator pickup truck will tow up to 7,650 pounds. Both 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic gearbox will be offered.

The arriving mid-size pickup truck will cost over $30,000. However, the exact pricing details are not available yet. The sales will start this April and the 2020 Jeep Gladiator will be available in four trim levels.
