The forthcoming 2020 Jeep Scrambler is the company’s newest pickup truck. After the Wrangler-based pickup, the new Scrambler pickup will be based on the popular Gladiator concept that is presented to the LA auto show. We have the latest photos and we can see the pickup will look like the Wrangler SUV, only with the bed.
On the other hand, the truck is very unique, styling is attractive and the design looks modern. The interior is also SUV-like and new Scrambler will use the 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine. It is the engine Jeep likes to deploy lately in all of its new models, especially SUVs. Moreover, you can expect a hybrid model to arrive in the near future.
2020 Jeep Scrambler Exterior is Unique and Retro
The new images are showing a pickup that looks aggressive. The styling, dimensions and the vehicle’s shape are the same as on the Gladiator’s concept. Now, we just have to wait and see the final product.
The exterior is based on the Wrangler SUV, some of the cues are a clear carryover. The front end is very similar to the SUV model. However, the rest of the vehicle comes with a certain way of uniqueness.
The 2020 Jeep Scrambler will offer three different roof configurations. You can opt for the soft top, three-piece hardtop and the body-colored roof. Furthermore, Scrambler could become the first open-air pickup on the markets. A five-foot bed is present, along with the wider tailgate in the back.
2020 Jeep Scrambler Interior Is Using Some Cues From The Wrangler SUV
What you saw on the Gladiator model you will see in the 2020 Jeep Scrambler. The interior will borrow plenty of stuff from the Wrangler SUV, something the concept already showed us. The dashboard is the same, along with the infotainment system. The good thing is that you can forget about the hard plastic materials, so the Scrambler pickup will use very upscale materials.
The 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen will be standard and it comes with an amazing interface and simplified menus. The touchscreen will be optional and the 7.0-inch touchscreen comes as standard. The pickup will offer integrations such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The safety rating will be more than good and new Scrambler will represent the future of the pickup segment with its modern design and comfortable cabin. Some of the standard safety features that we can expect are electronic stability control, rear view camera, plenty of airbags and lane assist system.
2020 Jeep Scrambler Powertrain
Jeep will continue to offer a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine. This unit is present in so many models, mostly SUVs, and Jeep is offering this type of mill to basically every new model. The Gladiator concept was presented with the same engine and the Wrangler SUV is already using it, so the things are pretty clear. This engine is producing 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
Now, the hybrid version will arrive a couple of months after the base model. The V6 engine will be paired with two electric motors. Together, they will create around 320 HP and 290 lb-ft of twists. A 16-kWh battery pack will be available as well.
Not only the hybrid drivetrain will provide more power, but it will also offer around 30 mpg combined. That is quite an impressive fuel economy for a pickup truck. A four-wheel-drive is in the offer, along with the 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmission.
2020 Jeep Scrambler Price and Release Date
The all-new 2020 Jeep Scrambler will cost $36,000. It will arrive in numerous trim levels and the range-topping trim will cost $50,000. The first quarter of 2020 is the expected release date.
