The upcoming 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave is official. This model debuts at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. It is a perfect alternative for the off-road-oriented models such as Chevy Colorado ZR2 and Ford F-150 Raptor. Still, Jeep is a strong competitor, and Gladiator Mojave will surely represent a strong option in the segment, not just the alternative. Gladiator is Jeep’s newest model, and everything on it looks relatively fresh.
Besides Mojave, the Hercules model will represent a high-performance variant. As for the Mojave, its debut caused a splash. It comes with Jeep’s “Desert Rated” badge or designation. Just as Jeep’s vehicles are getting the “Trail Rated” badge, “Desert Rated” is for the models that are great at climbing and river fording. Let’s see what the Mojave version has to offer.
2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Design
Design-wise, the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will look more aggressive. It will wear Rubicon’s red tow hooks, but the hooks are finished in the orange color. Mojave lettering on the hood is another novelty. Moreover, the hood comes with some kind of scoop. The front bumper is slightly lighter than on the Rubicon version, and it is made of one-piece steel.
Three-Piece removable corners are available and are offering a 44.7-degree approach angle. 17-inch wheels are offered as standard, and Jeep’s Performance Parts such as side rails are available. On top of that, the front skid plate is available as standard, along with the 33-inch Falken Wildpeak All-Terrain tires. Lastly, the Mojave model offers 11.6 inches of ground clearance.
Modern and Stylish Interior
The approaching 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will provide a very modern and cool interior. You will find contrast stitching on the seats, dashboard, steering wheel, and handbrake. Also, one can choose between the black and Steel Gray interior color schemes with either cloth or leather materials. The front seats are offering large bolsters with orange accents.
Moreover, Jeep will add an off-road plus driving mode that will tweak the throttle response and traction control. This comes handy during the high-speed adventures on the sand or slow crawling on the rocky terrain.
2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Engine
The brand-new 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will use a 3.6-liter V6 engine, one of the most reliable outputs in Jeep’s lineup of engines. It produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The manufacturer also offers a 6-speed manual transmission that will be standard on the Mojave version. Still, you can buy an optional 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Regardless of your choice, a four-wheel-drive with a two-speed transfer case is the best possible option. Moreover, it comes with a locking rear differential system. The suspension is “sportier” than on the regular Gladiator pickup. It also provides quicker reactions so the driver can safely correct the Mojave’s path.
Price and Release Date
Chicago Auto Show was a big success for Jeep as the manufacturer introduced special edition to its Gladiator and Wrangler models. The 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will go on sale in the second quarter of 2020. However, the price is still not available. Expect the price to start around $40,000 or slightly above that.
