The upcoming 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave is one of the wildest trucks that are currently on the market. Gladiator is a relatively new model and it won’t introduce significant changes. The third year of production shouldn’t deliver big surprises. Whatsoever, only the hybrid variant is reportedly a novelty. Because of that, we are more interested in the Mojave variant.
It is a desert-rated pickup truck, which already means this is a special model. The Gladiator Mojave comes with unique chassis and is made for high-speed off-road adventures. The sales of the new Gladiator will begin later in 2021 and here’s everything we know so far.
2022 Gladiator Mojave Looks Wild
The 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will depart from the regular Gladiator in numerous ways. Yes, this variant looks wilder but it isn’t a wild and aggressive design like on the Ram Rebel TRX. We could say that Mojave comes with wild character and slightly more aggressiveness than the base Gladiator. On top of that, it offers a lot of unique stuff, including the off-road features, chassis, and even the exterior colors.
The 2022 Gladiator Mojave comes with standard 17-inch wheels and 33-inch all-terrain tires. Furthermore, the lifted suspension is another important upgrade, along with the beefier axles. The goal is to deliver a supreme off-road pickup and Jeep did a great job. Mojave delivers 11.6-inches of ground clearance and various exterior upgrades.
While all of the Gladiator’s trim levels are unique and capable, Mojave is something completely different. The 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave is made for high-speed off-roading, so its mechanical setup is different as well. For a start, a 4×4 driving system comes as standard.
On top of that, Mojave offers an astonishing crawl ratio, better departure angles, and a two-speed transfer case. A rear locking differential is also available. The ride is sportier and the seats will gain additional grip. This is a useful upgrade, and the comfort will be slightly better too.
New Diesel Engine
A hybrid powertrain is a novelty, but the new 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave won’t offer any sort of electrification, yet. Instead, this variant will offer a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine. This gasoline unit powers almost every Jeep’s vehicle, including crossovers and SUVs. It develops 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. A stop-start system is also in the offer. From now on, Gladiator pickup also offers a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine.
Hopefully, Gladiator Mojave will offer this powertrain as an option. A diesel engine is capable of producing 260 hp and up to 442 lb-ft of torque. With a higher level of torque, Mojave will deliver even greater off-road capability. Lastly, this variant offers both eight-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmission.
2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Launch Date and Price
The price of the all-new 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will start at almost $46,000. The base Gladiator is available for $33,000. Mojave comes with a desert-rated badge. This means Mojave is the ultimate off-roader and its sales will begin later in 2021.
