The all-new 2020 Mitsubishi Triton is coming to the markets around next November. Also known as the “L200”, Triton is a pickup truck that will not receive that many changes. As a matter of fact, the 2019 Triton came last month with the significant upgrades. However, the biggest updates will happen in 2021 when Mitsubishi is introducing the new generation of Triton.
The 2020 Mitsubishi Triton is one very capable pickup truck that offers literally everything. Astonishing performances, attractive exterior design, and modern and comfy interior. The 2020 model won’t suffer that much in terms of changes and upgrades. Whatsoever, all of the upgrades are really minor. The all-new model will continue with the company’s Dynamic Shield design that looks brilliant, even on the pickup truck. With the latest changes, Mitsubishi’s plan to equalize L200 and Triton was successful.
2020 Mitsubishi Triton looks relatively fresh
The newest spy shots are available and the 2020 Mitsubishi Triton will arrive with minor upgrades only. The thing is that the 2019 model just arrived with more significant changes. Thanks to that, the 2020 Triton will look relatively fresh. The new model will carry more angular headlights and vertical daytime running lights. Similar styling cue is present on the current Mitsubishi Outlander.
Additionally, spy shots are showing a larger intake below the front grille. At the rear, the taillights are completely revised. All of the upgrades are part of the company’s Dynamic Shield design. New Triton is perhaps the perfect example of how this design language could be applied on the pickup truck.
2020 Mitsubishi Triton interior offers comfort
The upcoming 2020 Mitsubishi Triton comes with the very modern cabin. The interior is comfortable but then again, the changes from the inside are minor.
All we have at this moment are the spy shots that provide one image of the interior. However, a new generation will arrive in the near future and the last model got some bigger changes.
Perfect design and smart cabin layout
Knowing that the 2020 Triton is literally a carryover from a previous model. That means the interior will hold very upscale features and materials. The 2020 model will get some technology updates and nothing besides that. The list of standard features is long and most of the premium and luxury features and amenities are optional.
2020 Mitsubishi Triton powertrain
Triton is the L200 model for the Asian markets. It is the best definition of the pickup truck. There are some differences between the two models, and one of them is the powertrain. Just like most of the carmakers, Mitsubishi is also offering different types of engines to the different markets. The 2020 Mitsubishi Triton will offer three of them. The standard output is a 2.4-liter MIVEC four-cylinder engine.
This diesel unit generates 180 horses and 320 lb-ft of torque. Another diesel engine is optional and it is a 2.5-liter turbocharged that can produce 175 HP and 340 lb-ft of twists. The 2.4-liter gasoline unit is the third engine choice and it will deliver up to 145 horsepower.
Diesel powertrain could get a slight boost
Now, some rumors are saying that the diesel powertrain could get a slight boost in terms of power. We’ll take it as a speculation until it officially happens. All three available engines will deploy the same 6-speed automatic transmission.
2020 Mitsubishi Triton price and release date
The 2020 Mitsubishi Triton is basically the 2019 L200 model that got the latest significant upgrades. As we mentioned, the all-new Triton will arrive after 2020 and it will have a lot in common with the Nissan Navara. Until then, the 2020 Triton will cost $33,000 and it will hit the markets later in 2019, probably in November.
