Nissan is doing good on the pickup truck market. However, in order to compete with the top competitors, Nissan will need to pull something better. Don’t get us wrong, Nissan Titan is an amazing pickup. But it seems like the XD variant of this popular truck isn’t enough. For that reason, Japanese carmaker could introduce the 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior.
You remember Warrior, probably. A concept from 2016 that was first introduced on Auto Show in Detroit. A perfect example of how aggressive and eye-pleasing can one pickup be. Nissan’s goal was to deliver a high-performance variant, with more power than the Titan XD model. Now, besides the powerful V8, Titan Warrior will get a twin-turbo V6 engine with even greater capabilities.
2020 Nissan Titan Warrior is made for the off-road adventures
When you put everything aside, the clear Nissan’s intention to deliver an off-road pickup is perfection. The 2020 Nissan Warrior is made for the off-road adventures, just look at it. We are not saying the design is rubbish, no. However, a more subtle approach would make you think twice and maybe buy this pickup for a casual city ride. With such an aggressiveness, there is only one thing you can do with it. But on the other hand, it is a high-performance variant.
The styling is unique and modern. Warrior will ride on the same platform as the Titan XD. However, Titan Warrior is slightly larger. The black default color looks brilliant on this model, especially with orange accents.
The grille is larger and the front part in general looks sharper. The taillights are narrower than before and the new rear spoiler is present. 18-inch alloy wheels will remain standard. Plenty of off-road gear is available, most of them as standard.
2020 Nissan Titan Warrior cabin is modern and comfortable
The interior of the all-new 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior looks very modern and comfortable. For such an aggressive pickup, the cabin looks really subtle. The dash now sports more buttons and is slightly larger. Orange accents are looking amazing, even from the inside.
The cabin perfectly combines modern features with some traditional stuff such as analog gauges. Steering wheel looks sporty and it comes with suede upholstery. Carbon fiber materials and chrome trims are providing even better feeling.
2020 Nissan Titan Warrior engine and towing capacity
As we mentioned, the 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior will keep its existing powertrain choice and it will gain another powerful output. The standard engine is a 5.0-liter Cummins V8. This model produces 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. It comes with an all-wheel-drive setup, a 6-speed automatic gearbox and it can tow 12,300 pounds. Now, Warrior will get a new twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine. While we don’t know exact specs, we will provide our look at the entire situation.
A 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 can be found on various models. This engine delivers 400 horses. Now image a larger 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6. Notably, the famous and powerful Nissan GT-R is using the very same engine. Japanese carmaker already said the engine will reach 600 horsepower with a slight retuning. That would not only put Warrior above the Ford Raptor, but it would also crash it.
2020 Nissan Titan Warrior price and release date
There is a lot of good high-performance pickup truck choices. We can include rivals such as Ford Ranger Raptor and Toyota Tacoma as the most likely competitors. For that reason, the upcoming 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior pick up truck will cost in the same range as the mentioned models.
The all-new Warrior will cost around $40,000, probably slightly over. This model will hit the dealerships at the start of 2020.
