The upcoming 2020 Ram 1500 comes with numerous upgrades later this year. The all-new model will introduce plenty of upgrades. That includes both the exterior and interior improvements. New tow hooks, revised front fascia and more modern interior are all included.
New Ram 1500 will ride on a lighter frame and hybrid drivetrain is coming as well. Fuel economy is better now and Ram will introduce numerous trim levels and special variants. One such model is the iconic Ram Rebel.
2020 Ram 1500 Exterior Improvements
New 2020 Ram 1500 will get further refreshments in terms of design. The arriving pickup now rides on a lighter high-strength steel frame. Thanks to that, we can expect improvements in the fuel economy rating. According to Ram, the new model is 230 pounds lighter. The front fascia will get some drastic changes. For the start, it will become the first pickup with the front air dam. Moreover, styling is more dynamic and sharper. A six-sided grille will replace the iconic crosshair grille.
Grille now sports a large “RAM” lettering. Headlights are available with the standard LED lighting system. On top of that, new adaptive headlights are optional. The rear end will get similar upgrades. Taillights are new but are available with the halogen lightbulbs. New optional wheels are in the offer. 16-inch wheels remain standard but new 22-inch rims are looking very premium. Ram will introduce new exterior paints. The manufacturer will expand its color palette and there will be twelve exterior colors. Also, a two-paint exterior color scheme is optional once again.
The brand-new 2020 Ram 1500 comes with numerous interior updates. The cabin will be completely revamped. Each trim level will largely determine the level of luxury. The base trim level will look very upscale. Plenty of soft-touch surfaces and upscale materials are available as standard. The new infotainment system is in the offer.
Uconnect system now comes with a 12-inch touchscreen. It offers a quicker response and a simple interface. Navigation, Bluetooth and USB ports are available as standard. On the other hand, Harman Kardon premium sound system is still optional. Interior room is generous. Legroom is ample and new reclining seats are more practical and comfortable.
2020 Ram 1500 Powertrain
Under the hood, two powertrain options are available. Both units are using gasoline while the diesel engine is still a rumor. A 3.6-liter V6 that generates 305 horses and 270 lb-ft of torque is standard once again. Optional 5.7-liter Hemi V8 delivers 395 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are reliable and are available with 8-speed automatic transmission.
The hybrid drivetrain will be in the offer as well. Ram will combine one of the two existing engines with the electric generator. The motor will add 90 or 130 lb-ft of twist. Also, we expect astonishing fuel economy rating. As for the diesel, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is still just a rumor. This powertrain is rated at 260 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque.
Price and Release Date
The price of the new 2020 Ram 1500 starts at $28,000. On the other hand, the range-topping Limited trim is priced at $62,000. Ram 1500 will go on sale later this year, probably this fall. The hybrid model will arrive in the first quarter of 2020.
