2022 Ram 2500 Will Gain More Torque

The all-new 2022 Ram 2500 is one of the most exciting models in the heavy-duty segment. It is one of the best choices you can find at the moment. This truck comes with great reliability and good performance. The 2022MY will continue in the same fashion as its predecessor. However, some changes are about to happen so we expect the best model so far.

You can still choose between potent gasoline and diesel engines. Towing capacity is astonishing and Ram 2500 will once again rival Ford F-250 and Chevy Silverado 2500 models. The interior should be improved as well and Ram will surely offer a lot of trim levels and special editions once again. The sales will begin later this year and here’s everything we know about the new model so far.

Ram 2500 Redesign

Design-wise, the new 2022 Ram 2500 will look more attractive than its predecessor. The credit goes to more modern and crisper lines. Moreover, some new exterior features are available too. For a start, Ram will provide a large split grille and narrow LED headlights. Both Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 models will gain the same type of updates. There will be so many trim levels so there is plenty of customization to be done. Besides trim levels, Ram offers a couple of exciting special editions.

The Limited Night Edition is one fine example. This edition delivers a unique look, it adds more black accents and it looks sportier. As the name suggests, the edition is based on the luxury Limited trim level. Thanks to that, you will get a handsome grille, impressive 20-inch wheels, unique exterior paints, and various matte black treatments.

Interior Refreshments

On the inside, the upcoming 2022 Ram 2500 will benefit from the latest changes and updates. This is one unique interior design that offers practicality and a great level of comfort. As always before, Ram 2500 share plenty of things with the Ram 1500 model. This is a good thing as Ram 1500 offers a truly impressive interior. The 2022MY will introduce more high-quality materials. That includes additional metal and real wood accents as well.

A massive center console is dominated by a new 12-inch touchscreen. This unit is very user-friendly and it offers an impressive interface. We expect to see a new UConnect infotainment system and new driver-assistance aids. However, we are still waiting for Ram to announce a complete list of updates.

Engine Specs

The approaching 2022 Ram 2500 will continue to offer two engines. This means both gasoline and diesel powertrain options are once again in the offer. Both variants are reliable and very potent. 6.4-liter V8 gasoline is a standard engine choice that develops up to 410 horsepower. On top of that, this engine comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and cylinder deactivation system.

A rear-wheel-drive configuration is standard, and the Power Wagon variant offers a standard AWD system. However, the optional 6.7-liter Cummins is still the highlight of the heavy-duty lineup. This turbodiesel engine generates 370 horsepower. More importantly, diesel delivers 850 lb-ft of torque. According to reliable reports, the new Ram 2500 will gain even more torque. Unlike the gasoline engine, diesel comes with a six-speed automatic transmission.

  1. yes but the big question is will the Gen 5 HD use the GEN 5 1500 cab? If not RAM will not have nearly the same interior space as FORD, nor will it have flat front footwells….4 inches less legroon, 2 inches less head and shoulder room.

  2. GEN 5 HD or going with Ford again. Fake GEN 5 HD not good enough. The Ford is not perfect for sure, but my 2019 F450 checks more boxes than a 10 year old HD design. I had 350K miles on my 2005 3500 DRW when I sold it so not a brand fan boy.
