New 2021 Toyota Tundra Special Editions will look more exciting than ever before. Japanese manufacturer recently unveiled new editions such as Nightshade. Moreover, off-roaders will get the Trail Edition, which is another exciting variant. Nightshade is based on the Limited trim level. On the other hand, Trail Edition is built on the SR5 Crew Max trim level. Both variants will be sold in 5,000 examples and will arrive later this year.

As for the Nightshade, expect a black-out appearance with a black leather interior. On the other hand, Trail Edition will get a larger fuel tank and unique features. It is important to say that both editions are not performance-oriented. That means you can expect the same engine that already powers Tundra truck.

Nightshade Edition

The upcoming 2021 Toyota Tundra Special Editions models will provide numerous exterior upgrades. For instance, the Nightshade variant will be more luxurious than before. This version was previously based on the SR5 trim level. From now on, Nightshade is based on the more luxurious Limited trim level. Thanks to that, expect more premium cues and features.

Nightshade Tundra comes with a black-out exterior design. That also includes black grille, door handles, and mirror caps. Trail Edition

Trail Edition models will be based on the Tundra SR5 Crew Max trim level. Generally, the 2021 Toyota Special Editions are using a certain trim level as a starting point. The 2021 Tundra Trail Edition is no different. Unlike the Nightshade package, this model will offer less luxury. The reason is its off-road-oriented character. Toyota provides black exterior badging and black seats with tan stitching. The larger fuel tank is another novelty.

Moreover, all-weather floor mats, front bucket seats with lumbar support, and telescoping steering wheel are all offered as standard. Trail Edition comes with a modified center console and a new anti-theft alarm system. You can have new Trail Edition in Midnight Black, Cement, Super White or Army Green exterior colors. Lastly, a “1794 Edition” chrome grille is available with unique wheels and a lockable storage system.

Common Features

Both Nightshade and Trail Edition models will offer the same mechanical specs. That means the 2021 Toyota Special Edition will deploy a reliable 5.7-liter V8. This unit comes with the same 6-speed automatic transmission and a standard RWD system. As on the regular Tundra pickup, 4WD setup will be optional. Potent V8 can tow up to 10,200 thanks to its 401 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, this engine delivers 381 horsepower. These two models will also use the same brakes, suspension, and other mechanical features.
